Yusra's Story I have become interested in coding during my SQL class in preparatory courses. It got me interested in data and how to handle it, and I wanted to apply that in my volunteering experience with AIESEC as a project manager. Eventually, I learned there were other languages, like python, which I thought was rather fun and more accessible. So I followed youtube videos on my own, but never got to move forward with that passion.

🙋‍♀️ Yusra's Motivation

First of all, it is destined for women only, which I believe is nothing like the other websites out there. The IT field is a male dominated field, and to have workshops dedicated to women only feels much more engaging and motivating, because it enables you to truly believe that it's not a gender centered field. If I see other women able to learn code easily, it empowers me as well.

🤹‍♀️ Yusra's Hobbies

I have rescued five stray cats. So most of my free time is centered around them. I find joy in playing with them, cuddling them and smooching them, so does my mom. That allows us to bond and tell each other silly cat stories and moments we witnessed. Otherwise, I love having fun with friends, listening to music, and dancing.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
