Yashvi's Story I think it started with curiosity more than anything. I wasn’t some prodigy building apps in 8th grade, but I’d always find myself wondering, “How does this work?” especially when we’d use any software or tech tool in class. I remember during our first python lab class, the code we wrote felt like magic you typed something and the computer did something. That clicked with me. Later, in school, we made a fire detector as part of a project using arduino, it made me realize how tech could solve real problems. That’s when I started seeing coding as more than just a subject, it was a tool to build things that actually matter. After exams, I finally got time to dive deeper. I built a basic ML model -the Iris Flower classifier; and that hands-on experience really hooked me. Breaking it down, testing it, seeing it work... nothing advanced, but enough to get me curious about what else I could build. That’s when I knew I didn’t just want to learn tech: I wanted to use it.

🙋‍♀️ Yashvi's Motivation

I’m a first year student at PES University, and I’m just starting out in tech. I want to learn how to code because I enjoy figuring things out and building from scratch and not just consuming technology but actually creating something with it. I’m not doing this just because “everyone’s learning to code.” I want to learn concrete skills that I can bring to bear on things I’m passionate about, whether that’s creating useful software, developing intelligent interfaces, or investigating ways to utilize AI in the service of social good. SheCodes stood out to me because it focuses on hands-on learning and doesn’t assume you know everything from the start. The structure, projects, and focus on women in tech make it feel like a space where I can learn without pressure but still be pushed to improve. Right now, I’m just getting started. But I know I want to be someone who builds with purpose. This feels like the right first step.

🤹‍♀️ Yashvi's Hobbies

I’m a national level skater-it’s something I’ve trained in for years and have represented my state, Delhi, at various events. Besides that, I enjoy cycling and trekking to clear my mind, and I play table tennis and read novels for fun and relaxation.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
