Winnie Vallonia 's Story When the first case of COVID-19 was identified and declared in Cameroon, we were in the middle of our Mock examinations. That same evening, a presidential decree announced the temporal shutdown of schools as well as many commercial activities. Our official examinations were postponed, but not canceled. So students had to continue preparing, with or without the help of their teachers. Fortunately, our teachers took the initiative of creating WhatsApp groups, where they could continue giving lessons and assignments. Although really helpful, this process was extremely slow, consumed a lot of internet connection, and was often ineffective. At that time, my parents hadn't given me a smartphone yet, and couldn't afford to get one so quickly. So I had to wait for the evenings when they would lend me their phones for a few hours to complete homework and revise lessons. It was during this period that I realized my country still has a long way to go as far as E-learning is concerned. Since then, I have developed a burning desire to become a software developer and innovate E-learning and digital education. My passion for coding quickly grew, and I never missed an opportunity to learn something new.
