Wendy's Story I became interested in coding in the year 2021. I was studying towards a clinical psychology degree that I wasn’t passionate about. A friend of mine used to actively code, he started teaching me a few skills on how it works. That is when I realised I am fully passionate about coding. I tried to go back to school to study coding but couldn’t receive the necessary finances from my family. As of now my family pressures me to pursue work as a psychologist for financial stability but my heart is solely rooted in tech.

🙋‍♀️ Wendy's Motivation

I am motivated to learn coding via SheCodes due to the fact that this program is targeted towards African woman, specifically those in South Africa. This program will therefore give me the necessary skills while allowing me to meet many women of my calibre during the process. This will allow me to network with fellow women and possibly learn from them.

🤹‍♀️ Wendy's Hobbies

My hobbies include reading, playing hockey as well as spending time with friends.I like to make time to learn about new ideas as well as receive new information.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
