Vira's Story I have many friends who are developers (their main programming languages are Java, JavaScript, Python and C#). So I've been around coding for a while, without necessarily studying it. First time I personally became interested in coding during one of UI challenge weeks. During it, I designed some landing pages and home screen widgets. Then I was interested to "build it". So I've started watching tutorials on YouTube of transforming UI prototype into webpage by HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Then I realized that I have no crucial skills for frontend development and genuinely got lost in this "sea" of information that Google offers :( I couldn't understand where exactly to start, so I've decided that just learning basics of programming languages going to be a good trampoline to dive deeper later on.

🙋‍♀️ Vira's Motivation

Not long ago, I became interested in UX/UI design and QA. So currently I'm self-studying those fields. I've heard a multiple times, that even though coding isn't crucial for UX/UI design, it is still an advantage. Especially when it comes to communicating with developers during development phase of the product. When it comes to QA - it is essential to know. I believe that knowing how to code will soon be a requirement for both manual and automation QA. Because as a tester you are always involved in software testing. I have many friends who code, that's how I gained understanding of "developer mindset" to some degree. It improves communication, because not every designer idea can be implemented. E.g.: if a design looks beautiful, it might have problems with functionality and especially security. So you should always keep this in mind. I believe gaining my own coding experience will improve my CV, expand my skills and knowledge about development.

🤹‍♀️ Vira's Hobbies

I love reading memoirs, non-fiction, philosophy and a bit of self-help books. Dancing is my secret passion, I think I'd definitely go to a performer pathway, if not my injury back when I was 12! :( I love cinematography, and thank god we live in an era of good quality CGI! I do like taking photos (my friends love that too - free photo sessions, who wouldn't be happy?). Sometimes I might start thinking too much about the fundamental nature of pretty much anything in our lives (aka studying philosophy). More interested in practical philosophy and logic. I also take some interest in product growth hacking and anything that has to do with customer experience :)
