Verona's Story I first became interested in coding during my early years in engineering, when I realized how software could be used to solve real-world problems and automate tasks. Writing small programs and seeing immediate results sparked my curiosity and motivated me to learn more. Over time, this interest grew as I explored how coding connects logic, creativity, and problem-solving, which encouraged me to pursue it more seriously.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to strengthen my practical programming skills in a structured and supportive learning environment. While I have an academic background in computer science, I want to improve my hands-on experience by building real projects and gaining confidence in applying concepts to real-world problems. SheCodes’ beginner-friendly, project-based approach and its supportive community for women in tech align well with my goal of becoming more skilled, confident, and industry-ready. I see SheCodes as an opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice and take a meaningful step toward my long-term career in technology.

My hobbies include photography, painting, and reading. I enjoy creative activities because they help me express ideas visually and think differently. I also like exploring movies and music in my free time, as they help me relax and stay inspired.

Verona's coding training

Verona has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
