Talana's Story I spend a lot of time alone and I thought I should learn a new skill in my sparetime. A friend recommended data analysis and I did an advanced excel course online and an intro to python. I always thought coding is complex but being exposed to it and seeing how it works made me want to learn more.

🙋‍♀️ Talana's Motivation

I have also always had an interest in coding but thought it would be too difficult to understand. After trying a few intro classes online, it sparked an interest and the confidence that I do have the capabalibility to learn it. I also would like to break into the tech space as there is a greater chance of working either remotely or hybrid as I would to travel and explore the world. Coming from a rural village, I think this would also allow me the opportunity to become testimony to others on opportunities into tech that do not necessarily require a lot of funding such as getting a degree and motivate a lot of unemployed graduates to upskill and change their lives.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
