Sharon's Story I got interested in coding at a class session back in secondary school. the teacher was teaching us the basics of HTML and because of the fact that i loved using computers, that got me interested. There was a coding club at school but the number of boys were many compared to girls so that really slowed me down because I got scared and joined another club. (Probably one among the bad decisions I made at school.) But my dream remained constant as i wished to pursue computer science at the university and I'm currently doing software engineering.

🙋‍♀️ Sharon's Motivation

I will be greatly honored to join this community because of my passion for technology and commitment to empowering young girls in the tech world. Since high school, I've always wished to start a coding club for girls because I've been innovating projects to solves different challenges in our communities, but the environment wasn't so friendly as i didn't have knowledge to program tools like Arduinos .I learned about this organization when I searched the internet for coding clubs in Tanzania and saw this website. Technology has always fascinated me, not just for its innovations but for its power to transform lives and bridge gaps. I am currently pursuing Software Engineering at African Leadership University. I firmly believe that tech should be accessible to all, regardless of gender or background, and I want to be a catalyst for change. By participating in this organization, I aim to collaborate with like-minded individuals, engage in coding projects, and mentor girls to help close the gender gap in tech.

🤹‍♀️ Sharon's Hobbies

I really love reading novels. I also love animations and movies and listening to music. Lastly, I love writing and typing.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
