Sara's Story A few months ago I came across a tiktok video of a shecodes bootcamp graduate from South Africa who subsequently got a job as a software developer. She spoke well about the program and said that it equipped her with the necessary tools for employment. She also showed a day in the life of a software developer - I knew I wanted to do this as well. Since then I've been learning from YouTube and freecodecamp. I've learned a bit of HTML, CSS and Javascript.

🙋‍♀️ Sara's Motivation

I would like to be a software developer. I am fascinated with how web pages are built, all the applications /systems involved and all the things they can do. Ultimately I'd like to create a better life for myself and my daughter. I'd like to hopefully one day buy a car and a house and pay for my daughter's tertiary education.

🤹‍♀️ Sara's Hobbies

I enjoy playing sudoku, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with my cats and my daughter. I like cooking different types of foods. I enjoy reading books, taking long walks on the beach & in nature, spending time with friends and family and enjoy watching comedies.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
