Sandiy's Story I first became interested in coding after watching a TED Talk where a woman spoke about how learning the skill to code can change the world. Her words deeply inspired me. As I looked around at the challenges we face here in Africa—like energy shortages, lack of access to quality education, clean water, and healthcare—I realized how powerful technology can be in solving these problems. That talk opened my eyes to the fact that coding isn’t just for building apps or websites; it’s a tool that can transform lives, communities, and even entire countries. I started thinking, “If I could learn how to code, maybe I could be part of the solution.” That moment sparked my interest, and I’ve been passionate about learning ever since. I want to use coding to create African-led solutions that are practical, relevant, and impactful. I believe that Africa doesn’t lack talent or ideas—we just need more people equipped with the right tools, and I want to be one of them.

🙋‍♀️ Sandiy's Motivation

My motivation to learn how to code with She Code comes from a powerful realization I had—computers don’t know anything on their own. It’s people who tell them what to do. That understanding shifted my mindset and made me see coding not just as a skill, but as a way to unlock endless possibilities. When you have the ability to code, you can literally build the future. You can take an idea and turn it into something that impacts lives, changes systems, and solves real problems. I’m very passionate about solving the world’s pressing problems, especially those that affect communities around me. Whether it’s issues in healthcare, education, or the environment, I believe technology has the power to bring solutions—and I want to be part of that change. Learning to code will give me the tools I need to move from just having ideas to actually building them. She Code feels like the perfect space to grow, be inspired, and learn alongside others who also want to make a difference.

🤹‍♀️ Sandiy's Hobbies

I enjoy creating and building things from scratch—whether it's developing new ideas, making handmade candles, or working on innovative projects. I also love public speaking and mentoring young people, especially when it comes to helping them discover their potential and believe in themselves. Another big passion of mine is problem-solving—I’m always thinking of new ways to make things better or to address real-world challenges. Learning new skills, especially in technology and entrepreneurship, excites me because I enjoy turning ideas into something impactful.
