Rochelle's Story I was watching youtube videos of coding in Ruby. I fell in love with the syntax and the eloquence of that language but I cannot code to save my life. I would love to learn, because the videos I watch are super interesting. One day, I would like to start a website building company. This is also part of my motivation to learn to code and why I am so interested in learning.

🙋‍♀️ Rochelle's Motivation

I have a high interest in tech and programming. I have watched youtube videos, read coding books and dabbled. Learning by myself is hard however, so I was motivated to look for opportunities to learn from teachers/professionals. My motivation is to become employed in a good job sector and do something I have come to enjoy - coding/programming. I would love to one day own a web development company and code games. Writing a game engine is an ambition.

🤹‍♀️ Rochelle's Hobbies

My hobbies are playing my violin or the piano. I am mostly self-taught on those instruments after my parents gave me a few lessons as a child. I also write, and that is fully self-taught. I play tennis and chess and will often paint (watercolour and self-taught). I wish I could make money off my hobbies. I am unemployed but I have talents that I learned. Now I need employable skills, such as coding. I cannot survive the rest of my life this way. Another hobby is gaming. Maybe I'm too old for that and should stop.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
