Queeneth Sesanda's Story I joined university in 2022 without fully understanding the program I had applied for—Diploma in Information and Communication Technology. My first year was extremely difficult; I struggled to understand code as we built websites and apps. It felt overwhelming, and I often doubted myself. However, I took the initiative to watch coding videos on YouTube, and that decision changed everything. With consistent effort, I started grasping concepts, and eventually, I built a fully functional app using Visual Studio. That moment brought me so much happiness and satisfaction—it felt like a breakthrough. Through this journey, I learned how technology is a powerful tool used worldwide to solve problems, create solutions, and innovate. It made me realize that this field is truly for me. I am determined to grow, improve, and use my skills to make a real impact in the world. I believe I can be part of the change.

🙋‍♀️ Queeneth Sesanda's Motivation

I aspire to become a full-stack developer, but I understand the importance of first mastering front-end development before moving on to the back end. Being part of SheCodes will help me stay aligned with my goal by providing the necessary guidance and equipping me with the skills to be my best self in technology. I believe SheCodes is specially designed for women, girls, and queens like us, empowering us, especially those from developing countries. This initiative creates opportunities for us to grow, learn, and excel in the tech industry. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and would never take it for granted. Instead, I will embrace it wholeheartedly, dedicating my time and effort to gaining knowledge and improving my skills. With determination and passion, I will make the most of this journey and work hard to achieve my dream of becoming a skilled and confident full-stack developer.

🤹‍♀️ Queeneth Sesanda's Hobbies

I am a very chill person who enjoys reading novels, especially fictional ones. One of my all-time favorites is When Life Gives You Lemons by Simphiwe Molaba. Recently, I fell in love with It Ends with Us and It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover. These books deeply resonated with me, making me appreciate storytelling even more. Apart from reading, I also love making my favorite meals. My passion for food even inspired me to build an application focused on food recipes, combining my love for cooking with my interest in technology. It was an exciting experience that allowed me to explore both creativity and coding. Lastly, I enjoy exploring top-rated websites to see what makes them stand out. I love analyzing their structure, learning which programming languages were used, and understanding the platforms behind them. It helps me stay inspired and improve my technical knowledge.

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
