Olwetu's Story I first became interested in coding through curiosity and the influence of the digital age we live in. Here’s how my interest developed: Early Exposure to Technology: Growing up surrounded by technology, I was naturally curious about how things worked. Seeing how coding could transform ideas into reality made me want to learn how to do it myself. Educational Opportunities: Access to coding resources, tutorials, and online courses made it easier to dive into programming. Platforms like SheCodes, Codecademy, and freeCodeCamp provided a structured path to start learning and experimenting with code. Desire for Career Advancement: Recognizing the growing demand for tech skills in the job market, I saw coding as a valuable skill to enhance my career prospects. I enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities that keep me engaged and entertained. Here are some of my favorite pastimes: Reading: I love diving into a good book, whether it's fiction, non-fiction, or something in between. Reading allows me to explore new worlds, gain knowledge, and relax. Writing: Whether it's creative writing, journaling, or blogging, I find writing to be a great way to express myself and organize my thoughts. Coding and Tech Projects: Experimenting with new coding projects and learning different programming languages is both a hobby and a passion. I enjoy creating websites, apps, and exploring new technologies. Gaming: Playing video games is a fun way to unwind and challenge myself. I enjoy a variety of genres, from strategy and adventure games to puzzles and simulations. Outdoor Activities: Spending time outdoors is refreshing. I like hiking, biking, and exploring nature. It's a great way to stay active and enjoy the beauty of the natural world. Cooking and Baking: Trying out new recipes and experimenting in the kitchen is something I find both fun and rewarding. I enjoy cooking meals and baking treats for friends and family. Music: Listening to music, discovering new artists, and occasionally playing instruments is a big part of my life. Music helps me relax and inspires creativity. Traveling: Exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people is always exciting. Traveling broadens my perspective and provides memorable experiences. Crafting and DIY Projects: I enjoy making things with my hands, whether it's crafting, sewing, or working on DIY home improvement projects. It's satisfying to see a project come to life. Fitness and Yoga: Staying active through exercise, yoga, and meditation is important for my well-being. These activities help me stay balanced and focused. Olwetu's coding training

Olwetu has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
