Nguyen Phuong Linh's Story Coding is a very popular occupation in my country, and I was often told that excellent coders make banks. Nevertheless, I didn’t pay much attention to it until I saw a short video on social media of a coder literally made a website out of coding digits I couldn’t understand. I was absolutely amazed and puzzled, asking myself ‘how could he do that?’, ‘how does that work?’. That’s when I became genuinely inquisitive about this field. I could have applied for a Marketing degree, but I decided to go for MarTech partly because of that curiosity growing strong, so why not give it a try? ;)

🙋‍♀️ Nguyen Phuong Linh's Motivation

To begin with, my chosen university major is MarTech, which is like the combination of Marketing and Technology, so eventually I will need to learn how to code in the next four years of tertiary education. Therefore, I reckon that I should expand my limited knowledge and gain an insight into coding education experiences before entering university, the sooner the better. In addition, I want to challenge myself, to try some thing new that is beyond my study comfort zone. I’m the linguistic and arts type of person, thus I usually avoid science subjects because of lack of interest. Last but not least, because coding is a male-dominated area where I live, being a female coder will definitely be a firm testament for my skills. I can’t predict whether I will make a living out of sheer coding knowledge as I haven’t tried yet, but I strongly believe it will be useful for my future career. I choose SheCodes because after considerable exploration, I recognize that it is a great and meaningful learning platform for knowledge pursuers, especially women, who wish to obtain coding materials from their home. Moreover, taking online lessons on SheCodes will encourage my self-learning skills as well as adding flexibility to my schedules. In addition, getting used to virtual communication and collaboration via lessons on SheCodes will enhance my cyber skills, which is extremely essential, especially in the context of rapid technological developments which facilitates online learning.

🤹‍♀️ Nguyen Phuong Linh's Hobbies

I am quite diverse in my hobbies :) Most of them are in-house activities, ranging from reading, journaling, to crocheting. Nevertheless, sometimes I just dress up nicely, go to my favorite cafe and watch people go on with their daily life, which I find oddly interesting.
