Mamolefe Marota

🇿🇦 South African living in Cape Town, 🇿🇦 South Africa
✅ Approved by

Mamolefe's Story I have completed a Humanities-based degree (Psychology), so I have always been intrigued by what my female peers with Science and Technology degrees are able to do with technology. I became interested in coding when I learnt that you do not need to be good at challenging subjects like Maths and Physics to code. Discovering that coding can open work opportunities all over the world made me interested in learning, especially because of the high unemployment rate among graduates in South Africa

🙋‍♀️ Mamolefe's Motivation

The world is becoming more digitalized, so I believe that learning how to code with SheCodes will increase my access to opportunities for work. I have no coding experience, and I believe that this is a good platform to teach beginners, like myself, how to code. I would like to increase my skill set so that I have opportunities to work in the rapidly growing tech industry.

🤹‍♀️ Mamolefe's Hobbies

I enjoy reading fiction books during my free time. I also love playing netball and am currently part of the team at my university residence. I enjoy spending time at the beach and watching the sunset with friends.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
