Maletsha's Story I became interested in coding after securing an internship at a software development company, where I was responsible for testing software implemented at a hospital in Free State. This experience opened my eyes to the power of technology in improving critical systems, and I realized that I wanted to learn more than just testing—I wanted to understand how software is built and contribute to its development. Working closely with developers, I was fascinated by how they transformed ideas into functional systems that made a real difference. However, I often felt limited in my role and wanted to engage more deeply in the creative and problem-solving aspects of coding. Learning to code with SheCodes will allow me to expand my skills, move beyond testing, and actively participate in software development. I am particularly excited about gaining hands-on experience in front-end and back-end development, as well as building projects that have real-world applications. SheCodes’ structured learning environment and supportive community make it the perfect place to start this journey. I am eager to take this next step, challenge myself, and grow into a skilled developer.

My experience working with arts organizations and children’s programs as well as the software company im currently working for has shown me the value of innovation in education. I want to gain technical skills that will help bridge gaps in learning accessibility, particularly for young children. SheCodes provides the perfect platform to develop these skills in a supportive, women-focused environment. Beyond personal growth, I am excited about joining a global community of women breaking barriers in technology. I look forward to gaining problem-solving skills, enhancing my creativity, and applying my knowledge to meaningful projects.
