Lorna Stacey 's Story It's through a friend's influence who showed me that coding ensures people have access to a creative, fast paced world that relies on machine connection..Fast forward to December 2023 I was able to work as a B.A during the digital tech week and I got to learn how technology is impacting lives out here which indulged me to fully venture into coding and tech

🙋‍♀️ Lorna Stacey 's Motivation

I’ve always been fascinated with computers. I have an extensive background working in corporate IT for 5 years. I worked in infrastructure primarily…( non coding for the most part ) and from what I observed throughout my time is that coding is the most valuable and powerful part. Hardware is a commodity…operating systems are generally static….but where the most magic can happen is with code at the application layer. I’ve seen amazing applications really optimize workloads and glean with efficiency….but unfortunately that is a very rare occurrence….mostly there are bloated systems that are super expensive and super inefficient in most companies today.I’ve always thought I could create an application and do it way better than how it is being done today. Eventually I have an opportunity to give a shot through She code. Challenge accepted!

🤹‍♀️ Lorna Stacey 's Hobbies

I love hiking and adventure. I also love swimming and travelling to discover different cultures.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
