Kusum's Story I have always enjoyed learning the basic programming languages which I was taught in secondary school. However, they were always limited to the book’s questions and solutions. It was not until grade 11 that I learned programming language by doing it on computers and started observing its outcomes and eventually got a deep interest in coding. Consequently, in 2022 by collaborating with a few enthusiastic students, I and my team built an App and a Website that acts as a bridge between people seeking mental health services and professional psychologists providing one. There, I realized how I could make a difference in my community just by learning to code, which inspired me to study more about coding so that I could create something important by merging coding and entrepreneurship. Similarly, I am currently working as a project manager on a website development project that attempts to assist students with the materials they need to apply to colleges/universities in the United States.

🙋‍♀️ Kusum's Motivation

When I was 14 years old, my father started a business related to distributing fire extinguishers. In the initial phase of his business, he initiated a small-level direct selling model. He was alone handling everything, therefore, I decided to help him with his business, consequently, I also started selling fire extinguishers with my father. There, as I worked on it, it helped me to identify my love for entrepreneurship. Whereas, the enthusiasm I felt when I worked on a project to build a projector and a solar panel for a science exhibition event made me realise my undiscovered love for technology. Since then, I have been eager to learn about how to use technology in business effectively. Realizing my interest, I chose to study management with computer science in high school where I was first introduced to computer science in a practical approach. Since then, I have been truly curious to learn to code and use coding to bring an impact in the entrepreneurship world. Consequently, I started learning coding by watching youtube videos and the fact that I’m truly enjoying it and have a deep interest in learning more about it motivates me to learn code with SheCodes.

🤹‍♀️ Kusum's Hobbies

I honestly have a lot of hobbies. Some days, I enjoy penning my thoughts, while other days, I enjoy reading books; recently, I have developed a strong interest in reading finance books. Similarly, I enjoy cooking, going on walks in nature, being near rivers, and, of course, conversing with children and grandparents. It’s like when I'm among kids and grandparents, they offer me a new perspective on life and allow me to stay grounded and never forget my roots.
