Jaleel's Story My motivation for learning how to code comes from the confidence to pursue becoming the woman that I have always dreamed of being. I have always gravitated towards technology and computing however I was of the belief that software programming was some arcane and innate skill that was beyond my purview (especially because I suck at math). I put the idea of a tech career in the backseat due to reasons mainly being lack of finances and lack of confidence, but the interest never waned. I strongly believe that learning to code is a part of my journey to self-actualization.

🙋‍♀️ Jaleel's Motivation

My research led me to SheCodes 7 minutes before one of the free workshops started, and I couldn't be more glad about that. That session with Matt was educational as it was fun and motivating. I have just started my technology journey and it has been a whirlwind trying to find guidance toward the best path. I have started with a few free online courses however I am finding them to be static and overwhelming, and honestly hard. I see where learning with SheCodes will provide a more dynamic and engaging learning experience, also the guidance and structure that I would so greatly appreciate. I would be so much more motivated if I was apart of a live community. And of women who have similar stories to mine! That camaraderie alone makes me excited to get started.

My primary hobbies are reading, doing art, and Netflixing. I also like to engage in educational content from a wide range of disciplines and I am a trivia geek.

Jaleel's coding training
