Gontse's Story I Do Tapestry crotchet which means being able to follow pixel graphs to basically draw with wool and hook, I feel that is where my spark for coding came about and seeing people put codes to create something.

🙋‍♀️ Gontse's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code with She Codes comes from a deep desire to grow my skills and open up new career opportunities in the tech industry. Technology is constantly evolving, and I want to be part of that change—not just as a user, but as a creator. I’m especially drawn to the way coding allows you to build solutions, express creativity, and solve real-world problems. As someone who enjoys learning and challenging myself, I believe coding is a powerful skill that can help me bring my ideas to life and have a meaningful impact. She Codes is the perfect environment for me because it supports women and creates a safe, inclusive space to learn without judgment. It’s inspiring to be part of a community where other women are also pushing boundaries and supporting one another. I’m excited to gain hands-on experience, build projects I can be proud of, and eventually use these skills to find a job in tech or even start my own digital venture. By learning to code, I’m investing in myself and my future, and I believe She Codes is the right step to help me achieve my goals.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
