Feven Gurju's Story My journey into the world of coding began in high school, a time when I was exploring various subjects and discovering my passions. At first, I thought that coding was just a series of complex symbols, letters, words, and signs that I had to memorize. During my high school years, my school offered introductory courses in programming languages like C++, Python and Java, which provided a solid foundation for my understanding. I started engaging in projects, and every accomplishment increased my excitement. It was thrilling to watch my code come to life as working programs, and it was during this exploration that I began to appreciate the artistry of coding. My realization that coding is about creating something beautiful and important rather than just producing lines of code marked a turning point in my life. I began to view programming as a medium on which I could express my thoughts, find solutions to practical issues, and advance the digital world. Each project became a reflection of my creativity and logic. This fresh perspective on coding sparked a desire in me that I had never experienced before.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from a desire to bridge the gap between my academic knowledge and practical skills. The hands-on approach of the program aligns perfectly with my learning style, allowing me to apply concepts in real-time projects. I aim to integrate development with security to create secure applications. Moreover, I'm drawn to its inclusive community. Shecodes’ focus on empowering women in tech aligns with my personal values. As a female student in a male-dominated industry, I recognize the importance of representation and mentorship. Being part of a community that prioritizes inclusivity and diversity would not only enhance my learning experience but also inspire me to encourage others facing similar obstacles. By participating in SheCodes, I aim to enhance my coding skills, gain confidence in my abilities, and ultimately contribute to meaningful projects in the tech industry. This opportunity would not only fulfill my passion for development but also equip me with the essential tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving field.
