Dina Sadat's Story Growing up in the age of technology, I learned the importance of it, and how it is inseparable from our lives, and the need for new technologies will raise as the days go by. There were many times that I was in need of an application to help me, on different occasions and in different aspects of my life. But there was no such application that included all those features that I needed. I wish I knew how to design one, but I didn’t know how to do it. One day I said to myself “why not? I don’t have to wait for others to find a solution for my problems.” Then I decided to be the change that I needed to see in the realm of technology, and learning how to code will help me reach my goal.

🙋‍♀️ Dina Sadat's Motivation

The essential role of technology in our lives is not hidden from anyone. In order to have a position in this field, one has to learn how to code. As a woman, I need to be independent, and learning new skills that are needed in this modern world would help me achieve my goals. SheCodes provides an opportunity for women like me, who are from developing countries, to fulfill our goals by learning how to code. Women in my country are often dependent on their fathers, or husbands, and if one wants to become independent, she has to earn new skills and work. Learning this skill will help me find a job because the demand for people who know how to code will never decrease.

🤹‍♀️ Dina Sadat's Hobbies

Since I'm an English literature student, my number one hobby is reading books. I mostly read novels with passionate main characters, or biographies of great people with many achievements, because they inspire me. When I'm not busy reading or studying, I watch videos to learn new skills or at least get familiar with them. I like new challenges, and learning a new skill can be a real one. I have watched several videos about coding, but none was helpful, but I didn't give up, and I started reading about it, till one of my friends told me about this website.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
