Debbie's Story I took up computer studies back in high school as an elective and I have had an interest in anything related to computing ever since.

🙋‍♀️ Debbie's Motivation

I am eager to join SheCodes as a current computer engineering student with a passion for coding cultivated through participation in hackathons and makathons. While these experiences have been enriching, I recognize the need for a more comprehensive understanding of coding concepts, and SheCodes provides an ideal platform for that. I am particularly drawn to SheCodes' commitment to diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, and I am excited about the networking and mentorship opportunities I will have acess to if my application is accepted.

🤹‍♀️ Debbie's Hobbies

In my free time, I like to sign up to a lot of volunteerism activities when I am at school to give back the community. I offer free tutoring and sometimes volunteer at local community events like marathons or food stall competitions. I also enjoy attending hackathon's hosted by different universities when I can get the chance.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
