Archi's Story I was sixteen when I got my first laptop. It definitely won’t come off as a big deal to anyone, but for me it was a chance to explore something new. I loved figuring out things on my own – this led me to try out coding on my own, trying to understand how things worked in real life. It was quiet and frustrating. That’s how it started. Sometimes, to unravel the craziest things, we just need to be “curious” about something. For me, this curiosity came from exploring technology. I learned more about technology through camps like Girls Who Code, Kode with Klossy, and Intro to Quantum Computing back in high school. These camps and courses made me realise how cool technology is and would be so fun to pursue. One thing I would say is that these camps were free but beneficial, which makes me more interested in creating courses in the future that will help young people get great exposure to technology and pursue it further.

🙋‍♀️ Archi's Motivation

SheCodes will be another stepping stone that will bring me a bit closer to my goals. I don’t know how to lead on a lot of things, but everyone was once a beginner, as I realise from the great people that I look up to in tech. I am sure I will use this opportunity to learn, experiment, and grow together. My initial motivation is definitely being independent as a girl and to provide a better life to my loved ones. I noticed from a young age how society is biased towards a girl. I hope that I grow in life as a successful daughter to my family. I don’t have to stick to a plan; rather, I would say it's my commitment which leads one experience to another. SheCodes isn’t just support; it’s a signal for me to keep doing what I’ve already been doing: building, mentoring, messing up, learning, and bringing others with me. Girls like me, who weren’t expected to lead, can lead anyway. That we can keep building and bringing others along. With this support, I’ll continue creating learning spaces, mentoring women in tech, and leading with intention not just during my education but long after it.

🤹‍♀️ Archi's Hobbies

I love exploring new things so much. When it comes to my tech side, I am constantly engaged in improving my skills. Currently, I am learning how to make immersive experiences in virtual reality. This is something I am doing for fun. Apart from this, I am also a global youth advisor for Google, and engaging in concepts and providing insights which shape future products is my favourite thing to do. I'm also into painting and poetry. In college, I also do a bit of volunteering and also love mentoring, so during summer I ended youth mentoring young girls.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
