Anukrati's Story As a young girl, I was captivated by my father tinkering with gadgets and coding in his home office. Watching him effortlessly bring digital worlds to life sparked my love for technology. I remember the first time he let me type a simple command, and the joy I felt when the computer responded—it was like magic, and I was hooked. Being women in this field, we don’t have the same opportunities as our male counterparts. In my college, the gender disparity is stark, with a girl-to-boy ratio of 1:6. Despite being among the brightest minds, I often find myself sidelined. In electronics lab sessions, I'm relegated to note-taking while my male peers handle the experiments. This exclusion extends to group projects, when I’m rarely given the opportunity to do the technical work. These experiences, though challenging, taught me the importance of resilience and the need for advocacy and support for women in tech. Refusing to be deterred, I founded 'Lean-In,' an all-girls community focused on technology and financial literacy. It was a collaborative effort of experienced mentors, curious aspirants, and the exchange of ideas. It resulted in more of my female counterparts participating in hackathons and contributing to GitHub. We got inspired to develop an embedded software application and server for "SeatSense," focusing on seat availability detection. We collaborated with hardware engineers to design and prototype sensor modules and ran tests to ensure positive results. Link- https://github.com/anukraticodes/SeatSenseProject From exploring the inner workings of software applications to diving into the hardware components of electronic devices, I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my technical knowledge and skills. I thrive in problem-solving environments, where I can apply my analytical mindset and creative thinking to overcome challenges.

🙋‍♀️ Anukrati's Motivation

My inspiration to learn how to code with SheCodes stems from a desire to create innovative tech products that have the potential to make a real difference — specifically in AI-based applications. As someone already developing projects like SHAKTI (an AI conversational bot), Financely (an AI-based financial advisor), and Zentoro (an OS for startup founders), I’m always seeking new learning experiences that help me refine my skills, stay updated with industry best practices, and connect with a community of like-minded developers. SheCodes provides a disciplined and welcoming community that can reinforce both technical and creative elements of coding — something I hold highly as I develop and give back in the technology community.

🤹‍♀️ Anukrati's Hobbies

My favorite activities include Hindustani classical music, debating, and public speaking. I love volunteering, educating poor children, and organizing community initiatives such as Oppia. I'm keen on event planning, cultural exchange, and social media marketing. Discovering new cultures, giving back to others, and conveying myself through music and speech are the things that make me genuinely happy.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
