Wanjiru's Story I first got interested in coding when I saw how algorithms power space research and AI. I wanted to learn how to create such technologies. I also have interests in Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics, where coding skills are necessary.

🙋‍♀️ Wanjiru's Motivation

I want to use coding to solve real problems in space exploration and climate change, while empowering more girls to see tech as a tool for impact. I also want to gain skills that will aid me in tutoring others to embrace coding skills in their day to day lives. I want to make the next big break in physics as we know it, and coding would serve as a very pivotal tool

🤹‍♀️ Wanjiru's Hobbies

I love to read, both for entertainment and for pursuit of knowledge. I love to tutor as well. I enjoy learning communities, from classrooms to peer discussions, where I get the best of two things I love: learning and spending time with people. I also love listening to indie music and trying out new ice creams.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
