Tracy's Story My interest in coding was sparked by the many successful women in the tech industry who have broken barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. As an IR graduate, I recognise the growing role of technology in shaping global affairs, governance, and economic development. Learning coding allows me to engage with these changes and contribute to discussions on technological empowerment. While I’m not pursuing a career in tech, I see coding as a valuable skill that intersects with my broader interests in policy, development, and social change.

🙋‍♀️ Tracy's Motivation

My motivation for learning coding as an African woman is driven by a commitment to breaking barriers and creating opportunities. By mastering coding skills, I aim to empower myself and others to pursue careers in technology, contributing to the advancement of our society. I am particularly excited about the potential of coding to enhance job prospects and promote financial independence. Ultimately, I am determined to challenge stereotypes, foster inclusivity, and make a meaningful impact in the tech industry.

🤹‍♀️ Tracy's Hobbies

I play golf frequently, as I enjoy the challenge and strategic thinking it requires. I also have a deep appreciation for reading and enjoy exploring a wide range of topics, which allows me to gain new insights and perspectives.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
