Okon's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how much technology shapes our daily lives — from the websites we visit to the apps we use every day. I started wondering how those things are made and wanted to understand the process behind them. The more I learned about coding, the more I saw it as a creative skill, not just something technical. I love the idea that with just a computer and the right knowledge, you can build something useful from scratch. That curiosity is what made me want to start learning seriously.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to change my future through technology. I’ve always admired how people build websites and apps, and I want to be able to do that too. Learning to code will help me bring my ideas to life, gain more confidence, and open new opportunities for me. SheCodes inspires me because it supports women and makes tech feel possible for anyone willing to learn.

Some of my hobbies include spending time online learning new things, especially about technology and creativity. I enjoy designing with Canva, typing, and exploring digital platforms that help me grow new skills. For fun, I like listening to music, watching interesting movies, and chatting with friends from different places. I also enjoy doing small creative projects and discovering new ways to express myself through digital tools.

Okon's coding training

Okon has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
