Elizabeth's Story My first introduction to coding was my brother , he’s a software engineer and I always had a keen interest in tech since I was younger. Although I had opted to go the legal route I still took modules like tech law to familiarize myself with it and now I would like to fully embrace the tech world. I believe shecodes’s mission deeply resonates with me, not just because it offers technical training, but because it invests in women who are ready to lead change. I am eager to bring my problem solving mindset, interdisciplinary background, my knowledge in tech law and commitment to impact into the world of software development. I want to use code to solve real problems, just as I have done in law.

🙋‍♀️ Elizabeth's Motivation

As a young woman from South Africa, I understand the challenges of limited access to tech education and the urgent need to bridge the digital divide. I believe that combining my legal foundation with coding skills will empower me to build platforms that simplify legal processes, increase access to justice, and support small businesses in underserved communities. I further believe it will help me find work in a career that is booming as I have not had the opportunity to do so in the legal profession.

🤹‍♀️ Elizabeth's Hobbies

I read novels and I write poetry. I also enjoy going for a hike once in a while.

The Delac Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The Delac Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
